An-sky (written 1913-1916) is a gothic romance between two young lovers, a mythological tale about a broken promise, and a folkloric snapshot of Jewish life in the Pale of Settlement as interpreted by writer and ethnographer An-sky. Incorporating klezmer music, Yiddish folk dance, and shadow puppets based on traditional paper cutting, this community-focused production of the rarely staged Russian-Yiddish play will be the culmination of an innovative, year-long creative process that began with a series of free theater workshops hosted by Philadelphia’s Open Theater Workshop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We invite you to join us to our upcoming production running from Nov 13 – Nov 16 (We will be having a preview on Wednesday November 12th at 7:30pm, all tickets to the preview will be PWYC at the door).
